Berlin fashion week: sustainability, politics and inclusion

Exploring Berlin Fashion Week Highlights: DZHUS, Lunar Laboratories, and Avenir. Amidst the vibrant Berlin Fashion Week, our attention was captured by standout showcases from our own brands, DZHUS and Lunar Laboratories, alongside other local favourites like Avenir.

Avenir took a bold step into the future of fashion, delving into the profound impacts of global warming while addressing the evolving demands at the crossroads of style and climate consciousness. Founded by Sophie Claussen in 2020, Avenir, a Berlin-based circular fashion brand, has garnered acclaim for its commitment to conscious design, earning Sophie the prestigious Bunte New Faces Young Fashion Designer award in 2022. Their Spring/Summer 2024 collection, embracing slow fashion and utilizing pre-existing textiles, expertly showcases their material expertise, tailored craftsmanship, and upcycling techniques. From reworked denim bombers to textured knitwear and bespoke coats, Avenir's collection captivates with innovative designs and striking material manipulations, conveying a powerful message about environmental urgency.

Meanwhile, Lunar Laboratories opted for an unconventional venue, infusing their collection with subcultural and clubbing vibes that resonate perfectly with their brand identity. Staying true to their signature style of dark leather, geometric shapes, and effortlessly wearable looks, Lunar Laboratories once again delivers timeless pieces that effortlessly complement individual styles.

Berlin's fashion scene isn't confined to Fashion Week alone; it permeates the city year-round, reflecting its creative industries and lively street style culture.
